Electronic Data Interchange Specialist analyzes, designs, and develops specifications for enhancements and extensions with EDI application interfaces and maps. Ensures proper configuration and set-up of the EDI tools and systems that support file transfer between internal and external trading partners. Being an Electronic Data Interchange Specialist coordinates trading partner implementations and conducts EDI testing. Documents processes, data flow, file specifications, and mapping using standard formats. Additionally, Electronic Data Interchange Specialist may require a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a manager. The Electronic Data Interchange Specialist work is generally independent and collaborative in nature. Contributes to moderately complex aspects of a project.     Qualifications

    • Minimum of an associate degree in related field or equivalent work experience.
    • Knowledge of videoconferencing and audio-visual equipment
    • Knowledge of standards with reference to audiovisual and data conferencing, and LAN/WAN networks.
    • Flexibility and commitment, as there may be a requirement to work beyond normal working hours, and to travel throughout the University's service area as necessary.
    • Highly experienced in handling complex customer problems in a professional manner, over the telephone and on site.

    Job Concepts

    The Support Specialist will:


    • Responsible for the operation and maintenance of NSU's telepresence equipment and serve as primary contact.
    • Coordinate onsite installation, repair, and maintenance for a suite of video and infrastructure products.
    • Work with supervisor and support staff on project planning for complex product implementations
    • Provide installation of AV equipment and conference room setups as well as infrastructure preparation
    • Assist as required with the selection and purchase of new telepresence systems and other equipment for smart classrooms.
    • Assist in the development, selection, and installation of new equipment for remote sites.
    • Work cooperatively with university networking staff in the maintenance and troubleshooting of networking problems.
    • Coordinate and support of technology required for special events.
    • Maintain documentation of all systems
    • Travel as needed to maintain operation of delivery systems.
    • Night and weekend work may apply.
    • Work in the capacities as needed or determined by supervisor.
