Electronic Data Interchange Specialist jobs in Bakersfield, CA
Electronic Data Interchange Specialist analyzes, designs, and develops specifications for enhancements and extensions with EDI application interfaces and maps. Ensures proper configuration and set-up of the EDI tools and systems that support file transfer between internal and external trading partners. Being an Electronic Data Interchange Specialist coordinates trading partner implementations and conducts EDI testing. Documents processes, data flow, file specifications, and mapping using standard formats. Additionally, Electronic Data Interchange Specialist may require a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a manager. The Electronic Data Interchange Specialist work is generally independent and collaborative in nature. Contributes to moderately complex aspects of a project. Under the direction of the Director of HIM, maintains the processes for various data submissions to regulatatory agencies such as CMS, Joint Commission, and Office of Statewide Health Planning. Assists with special projects, report generation and data gathering activities for Inpatient and Outpatient services. The HIM Data Specialist will participate in the development and maintenance of operational policies and procedures to insure compliance with State and Federal regulatory requirements. The HIM Data Specialist is able to communicate effectively and demonstrates a positive attitude and customer services skills with physicians, staff, and patients. Is proficient in Microsoft Office and demonstrates advanced computer skills.
