Electronic Data Interchange Specialist jobs in Fresno, CA

Job Summary:

Performs multi-layered data analysis on various data sources to ensure accuracy and identify potential leads for Sales & Use Tax and Local Tax Compliance (Discovery Recovery) using Avenu’s proprietary software. Affects corrections to the data, as necessary. Maintain established address range databases by county. Affect annexations provided by the California Department of Tax & Fee Administration.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Key Responsibilities (other duties may be assigned):

Analysis of data anomalies and enhance data where necessary 55%

Lead detection (Sales and Use Tax and Local Tax Compliance (DRE)): Analysis of data to identify non-compliant or misallocated businesses 40%

Annexations (State Board of Equalization) 4%

New client setup/validation of zip code boundaries, overlaps, county pockets 1%

Education and Experience:

• Associates degree preferred, or the equivalent amount of related experience.

  • Must be able to work at the computer several hours a day, five days a week.
  • Attention to detail; ability to compare and recognize discrepancies in data.
  • Understanding of the dynamics of retail and industrial commerce helpful but not required.
  • Ability to analyze and interpret maps, such as Google maps or a GIS site.
  • Ability to navigate and conduct research on the web.
  • A moderate knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.
• Excellent verbal and written communications skills.

Work Environment:

• The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate as the employee works in an office setting, at an individual work station, using telephone and computer

Physical Demands:

• Must be able to remain in a stationary position for most of the day
• Constantly operates a computer and other office productivity machinery, such as a printer/copy machine
• This position needs to occasionally move about inside the office
• The person in this position frequently communicates via telephone
