Exceptional Children’s Data & Accountability Specialist
Term of Employment: 11 months
Compensation: Teacher Salary Schedule Supplement/Stipend
Reports to: Executive Director of Exceptional Children/Assistant Director of Exceptional Children
Purpose: Serves the students and staff of RSS by leading the work of collecting and evaluating student outcome data specific to special education. The Specialist will collect and analyze data to determine the programs' effectiveness. The Specialist will also work directly with contract vendors to support the practices of this department as well as provide ongoing professional development within this area.
Qualifications
Minimum
· Five (5) years of teaching experience working with students with disabilities
· Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in special education
· North Carolina Teaching License in any Exceptional Children area
· Knowledge and understanding of NC Content Standards
· Experience collecting and analyzing data to create Individualized Education Programs
· Experience analyzing state and local special education data
Preferred
· District experience in special education and instructional programming
· 2 years of leadership experience in the field
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
· Assess and organize data from student management systems for curriculum, discipline and internally generated sources
· Maintain student data related to federal indicators
· Maintain student data related to strategic plan outcomes
· Create school-level rosters for student outcome tracking
· Design and prepare data, reports, tables, charts, and graphs as needed
· Report data findings to the EC Executive Team
· Support classroom teachers with progress monitoring expectations and programs
· Work directly with vendors
· Perform special projects as assigned by Director of Exceptional Children and/or designee.
· Attend monthly district-wide leadership meetings
· Attend other assigned professional development
· Provide professional development
· Perform other tasks and assume other responsibilities as assigned by the Executive Director or Assistant Director of Exceptional Children
