Electronic Data Interchange Specialist analyzes, designs, and develops specifications for enhancements and extensions with EDI application interfaces and maps. Ensures proper configuration and set-up of the EDI tools and systems that support file transfer between internal and external trading partners. Being an Electronic Data Interchange Specialist coordinates trading partner implementations and conducts EDI testing. Documents processes, data flow, file specifications, and mapping using standard formats. Additionally, Electronic Data Interchange Specialist may require a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a manager. The Electronic Data Interchange Specialist work is generally independent and collaborative in nature. Contributes to moderately complex aspects of a project. QUALIFICATIONS
To perform this job successfully, an individual must demonstrate strong organizational, inter-personal, math, and computer skills. This position is data intensive. Spreadsheets are frequently used to transfer data; advanced Excel skills are required. Experience with SQL or SAP Business Objects is desired.
