Job description:
Home Run Electronics is seeking a skilled Low Voltage Technician to join our team. You will be wiring and trimming new residential and some commercial dwellings during all construction phases. This includes, but is not limited to category, coaxial, audio, and security wires. You will be installing central vacuum systems and conduits of various sizes. Electrical experience is not necessary but is helpful. You must possess your own low-voltage tools that will allow you to perform all phases of a project. A company vehicle will not be provided, so you will need to have transportation that will allow you to carry various amounts of wire, equipment, tools, and ladders that are up to 12 feet tall. This position is piece rate and will not be paid on an hourly basis. This position requires you to perform your duties in cold and hot temperatures while indoors, outside, and sometimes at considerable heights. You will be required to carry objects weighing up to 100 lbs. Most jobs will be conducted on construction sites while working around multiple trades, so you must adhere to all OSHA and project safety standards. You must be able to safely work on ladders at heights above 10 feet and are able to differentiate between various wire colors.
Responsibilities:
· Read and interpret blueprints/schematics and install projects to plan.
· Utilize power tools and specialized equipment to complete installations and repairs.
· Test and verify the functionality of low voltage systems after installation or repair.
· Able to accurately complete assigned jobs on time and handle various workload demands.
· Can quickly and effectively complete retrofit work with minimal drywall damage.
Skills:
· Able to efficiently and cleanly install low-voltage products, wiring, and equipment in a timely manner and stay on schedule with workload demands.
· Detail-oriented with the ability to detect and resolve field issues efficiently.
· Strong problem-solving skills to troubleshoot low voltage system malfunctions.
· Electrical experience is desirable but not required.
