Electronics Engineer

  • Responsibilities

    Noblis MSD’s mission is to support the Naval Sea Systems Command (NAVSEA) and Naval Surface Warfare Center (NSWCPD) in their missions to enable research, development, test and evaluation, acquisition, engineering, systems integration, in-service and fleet engineering with cybersecurity, comprehensive logistics, and life-cycle savings. Noblis MSD is seeking a candidate with an electronics background to support U.S. Navy Hull, Mechanical, and Electrical (HM&E) programs. You will provide engineering and technical assistance.

     

    This is a full time position, and will consist of a combination of remote work, and onsite work at ships located in Philadelphia. The position will facilitate testing and troubleshooting of Navigation Critical Data Systems (NCDS) and leading technical refreshes of existing systems.

     

    Roles & Responsibilities:

    • Analyze and develop lab requirements
    • Facilitate the development of developing lab space requests and build out
    • Develop technical requirements for ship configuration and Build out of Materials
    • Develop technical manuals
    • Collorabrate on fleet implementation and fielding plans
    • Develop and execute test plans
    • Complete Shipboard Operability Verification Tests for Navigation Critical Data System 

    Required Qualifications

    • Basic knowledge of network protocols such as TCP/IP and UDP
    • Experience supporting and troubleshooting networked, IP-based systems; both onsite and via distance support
    • Experience designing, developing, testing, and installing software and supporting software products
    • Experience writing, reviewing, and maintaining technical documentation such as, but not limited to, new or existing software requirements, user manuals, product specifications, and training materials
    • Knowledge of Ethernet Networking
    • Must be ok with travel up to 20%
    • Secret Clearance or the ability to obtain a Secret Clearance required
    • Bachelor's Degree OR 6 years of total experience in lieu of a degree

    Desired Qualifications

    • Experience with computer server hardware
    • Experience with developing BIOS configuration
    • Troubleshooting lab and system hardware experience
    • Knowledge of non-Ethernet communication protocols helpful
    • Experience working on engineering drawings
    • General Windows OS experience (Install/Configure/Troubleshoot)
    • Knowledge of configuration management concepts and lockdowns

    Salary at Noblis is determined by various factors, including but not limited to, the combination of education, certifications, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, internal and external equity, location, and clearance level, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements and applicable employment laws. The projected compensation range for this position is provided within the posting and are based on full time status. Part time staff receive a prorated salary based on regularly scheduled hours. The estimated minimum and maximum displayed represents the broadest range for this position (inclusive of high geographic and high clearance requirements), and is just one component of Noblis’ total compensation package for employees.

    USD $67,800.00 - USD $118,700.00 /Yr.
