Elevator Inspector jobs in Denver, CO

Elevator Inspector inspects, adjusts, and maintains installed freight and passenger elevators and escalators to meet specifications and safety codes. May recommend repairs. Being an Elevator Inspector requires a high school diploma or its equivalent. May be required to be certified in an area of specialty with 2-4 years of experience in the field or in a related area. Additionally, Elevator Inspector is familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular field. Relies on limited experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.     Job Description:

    Location: Denver Colorado

    • Follow all safety policies as required by NEIS (National Elevator Inspection Service)
    • Understand the methods and practices involved in inspecting a variety of electric and hydraulic elevators, escalators, moving walks and lifts
    • Understand the American National Standard Safety Code for Elevators, Dumbwaiters, Escalators and Moving Walks, including A17.2 Inspectors Manual and the rest of the A17.1 family.
    • Understand fundamental mechanical and electrical principles as they apply to elevators and similar conveyances
    • Objectively interpret and consistently apply code requirements and related standards in accordance with department policies
    • Learn job-related material primarily through oral instruction and observation, which takes place mainly in an on-the-job training setting
    • Work cooperatively with the public
    • Understand and make inferences from written materials and code documents
