Elevator Inspector inspects, adjusts, and maintains installed freight and passenger elevators and escalators to meet specifications and safety codes. May recommend repairs. Being an Elevator Inspector requires a high school diploma or its equivalent. May be required to be certified in an area of specialty with 2-4 years of experience in the field or in a related area. Additionally, Elevator Inspector is familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular field. Relies on limited experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Qualifications and Education Requirements
High School diploma or equivalent; Able to read and understand all relevant technical data such as Operation Sheets, Travelers, Manufacturers Engine Manuals / related publications and EASA/FAA requirements/regulations. This individual must also have the knowledge to operate all pertinent computer software, tools, etc. Strong interpersonal, technical and organizational skills are required.
Preferred Skills
Prior aerospace inspection is preferred; use of borescope, cmm, and other measurement tools is helpful.
Physical Requirements
Occasionally required to sit; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. Must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds with assistance. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
