Elevator Inspector inspects, adjusts, and maintains installed freight and passenger elevators and escalators to meet specifications and safety codes. May recommend repairs. Being an Elevator Inspector requires a high school diploma or its equivalent. May be required to be certified in an area of specialty with 2-4 years of experience in the field or in a related area. Additionally, Elevator Inspector is familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular field. Relies on limited experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.     Responsibilities:

    • Perform installation, maintenance, repair, and modernization of elevators, escalators, and related equipment.
    • Conduct regular inspections to identify potential issues and ensure compliance with safety standards and regulations.
    • Troubleshoot and diagnose mechanical and electrical problems in elevators and implement effective solutions.
    • Test and adjust elevator systems to optimize performance and ensure smooth operation.
    • Maintain accurate records of work performed, parts used, and time spent on each job.
    • Provide excellent customer service by addressing client inquiries and concerns in a professional manner.
    • Keep abreast of industry advancements and technological developments in elevator systems.

    Requirements:

    • High school diploma or equivalent; relevant certification or technical training is preferred.
    • Proven experience as an Elevator Mechanic with a strong understanding of elevator systems and components.
    • Knowledge of electrical and mechanical systems related to elevators and escalators.
    • Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, blueprints, and diagrams.
    • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
    • Must be physically fit and capable of lifting heavy equipment and materials.
    • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
    • Commitment to safety protocols and compliance with all regulations.
