Job description
The Housing Authority of the City of Shreveport (HACS) is seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic team player to serve as a Housing Quality Standards Inspector (HQS). The HACS hires quality employees and encourages excellence, to ensure the HACS will achieve and maintain high performance standards.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
· Conduct Housing Quality Standards (HQS) inspections, including initial, annual, complaint and quality control inspections to determine external and internal conditions of dwellings under the Assisted Housing Programs including operability of heating, electrical and plumbing systems, and conformance to HQS.
· Perform follow up inspections to determine completion of repairs indicated on previous inspection and make recommendations to supervisor for appropriate follow-up action when necessary.
· Generate and schedule inspections daily.
· Document inspections in HACS software through detailed notes and upload photos in an organized and timely manner.
· Communicate inspection results to landlords and outline HQS violations.
· Research participant files to verify information regarding utilities, appliances, or other pertinent information.
· Remain familiar and current with U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development Federal Regulations and state and local building codes as they relate to HCV Housing Programs.
· Ensure timely completion of required forms or reports.
