Job Description
The Quality Control/Process Improvement Specialist plays a crucial role in our company, reviewing and analyzing the performance of various procedures and making recommendations for improvements. As a specialist in this field, you will be instrumental in observing staff, producing quality reports, and determining how to make production more efficient. Your responsibilities also include monitoring, inspecting, and proposing measures to correct or improve our final product and processes to meet established and future quality standards. You will be a key player in implementing new procedures and improving existing ones, providing valuable advice and recommendations, and ensuring team members adhere to quality and safety standards.
Responsibilities
· Communicate with production assembly workers and field technicians about quality issues and improvement opportunities.
· Establish a daily start-up routine. Lead Monday morning start-up meetings.
· Assist in overseeing the daily assembly and production processes. With emphasis on Safety and Quality.
· Establish weekly and monthly quality meetings.
· Maintain /update/create daily, weekly, and monthly metrics.
· Assign and monitor responsible parties for the upkeep/update of the metric station.
· Collaborate with the Process Trainer to establish or strengthen the quality process.
· Maintain Quality Control/Assurance logs. Ensure that all logs, books, and checklists are completed on time.
· Prepare all required paperwork for new tower arrivals and all paperwork for departing towers.
· Complete all close-out reports and update the accompanying metrics.
· Model a safety-first mindset. Help establish safety guidelines where needed and proactively maintain current safety guidelines. Ensure the safe use of equipment and schedule regular maintenance.
· Organize and maintain our house through organization, neatness, cleanliness, and standardization. Relying on Lean Manufacturing Principals as a foundation.
· Identify improvement opportunities in efficiency and Quality areas of the production process. Assist in the implementation of needed changes to improve these areas.
· Help our team expand and develop their knowledge and skill sets and reinforce skills they already have. Relying on Lean Manufacturing Principles as a foundation.
· Establish and ensure all established quality-related receiving processes are being documented.
· Training the production team on quality control measures to improve product excellence.
· Link between field operations and shop operations. Initiate corrective actions between the two areas.
· Document all new product introductions, safety, quality, and process.
· Tracking progress, constantly gathering data to determine how well a new process works and then using that information to make changes over time.
· Identifying opportunities for process improvement, waste removal, and cost reduction, both on the production floor and in the field.
· Responsible for helping create an environment that is team-oriented and process-driven with a safety and quality focus.
