Elevator Installer/Repairer installs, troubleshoots, repairs, and maintains freight and passenger elevators and escalators. Requires a high school diploma or its equivalent. Being an Elevator Installer/Repairer may be required to be certified in an area of specialty with 2-4 years of experience in the field or in a related area. Familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular field. Additionally, Elevator Installer/Repairer relies on limited experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Due to anticipated growth, we are looking for experienced Elevator Helper throughout our service area.
In this role, you will be work under the instruction of Elevator Mechanics to assist with the sequence of operations and detailed steps to be taken, such as: having the proper tools and equipment at hand when needed; processing with own part of the work without requiring detailed instructions, etc.; clean machines, collect tools for job, obtain material, assist in mechanical operations, such as dismantling machines and reassembly, prepare babbit metal, replace cables, machine parts, etc.
- Possess a New York City Department of Buildings Helper Registration Card.
- Ability to achieve an OSHA 10 certification within the first 6 months on the job.
- Strong mechanical ability and general knowledge of tools.
- Ability to work independently as needed and follow instructions.
- Strong verbal communication skills.
- Travel: Have the ability to work within the Greater New York City Region.
