Email/Notes Group Director is responsible for all aspects of the email/notes group. Oversees the design, development, release, and maintenance of email application systems. This is a sales-like admissions and prospect management approach to a designated recruitment territory in an environment where recruiters are responsible for reaching enrollment and net revenue goals assigned to them.
Daily responsibilities include communication with prospective students via phone, text messaging, personal emails, handwritten notes, individual appointments (in-person and virtual), and group presentations. This position requires also requires recruitment travel.
The Assistant Director serves as a representative of Duquesne University at both on- and off-campus recruitment events, helps to design, implement and execute undergraduate recruitment strategies and manages long-term admission goals in an assigned area as directed by the Admissions leadership team.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Recruits undergraduate students and increases the visibility of Duquesne University within recruitment territory in support of enrollment objectives as determined by enrollment management leadership.
Communicates with a large volume of prospective students via phone, text messaging, personal emails, handwritten notes, individual appointments (in-person and virtual), group presentations and the regular use of arsenal (both printed and web information as well as facilitating connections with members of the campus community - i.e., faculty, alumni, current students, coaches and parents of current students).
Cultivates, engages, grades, persuades and closes prospective students. Always qualifies conversations and generates next steps (visit, apply, file FAFSA, submit enrollment deposit, submit housing application, register for classes, etc.).
Makes financial planning/billing calls.
Develops meaningful relationships with alumni, school counselors and other constituents in recruitment territory.
Demonstrates knowledge of and ability to effectively communicate regarding all aspects of Duquesne University, including but not limited to mission, core values, policies, academic programs, student life, outcomes, athletics, housing, financial aid, billing, advising, etc.
Reports on a regular and ongoing basis to enrollment management leadership regarding all recruitment activities utilizing data from Banner, Slate, Power BI, etc.
Makes recommendations to improve recruitment tactics and further develop visibility and recruitment strategy.
Coordinates and executes a recruitment travel schedule inclusive of college fairs, high school visits and regional receptions. Travel may occur on weekdays and weekends.
Projects and manages travel budget on a University procurement card.
Responsible for the timely review of applications within recruitment territory.
Evaluates first time applicants’ academic credentials/participates in the admission decision-making process, including the awarding of academic scholarships.
Reports on a regular and ongoing basis to enrollment management leadership regarding the status of application review in recruitment territory.
Performs other duties as assigned in support of a dynamic, goal-oriented team.
The Assistant Director will travel for college fairs, high school visits and conferences. Events may be indoor and outdoor.
Completes other duties as assigned.
REQUIREMENTS:
Minimum qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in a related field from an accredited institution.
1-3 years of work experience.
PA Drivers License
Preferred qualifications:
Fluency in Spanish preferred.
Strong technology skills with proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite; experience with Banner, Slate, social media and integrated database preferred.

Ability to lift prospective student marketing materials (~30 pounds) and travel independently.
Ability to maintain a high energy level with an enthusiastic, positive approach creating an excellent rapport with prospective students and their parents, team members and other departments within the University community.
Professional demeanor with the ability to deal with people in a courteous and tactful fashion regardless of circumstances.
Ability to work additional hours and weekends during peak recruitment periods.
