    HISTORY & CURRENT

Cornerstone Church is a church committed to their mission of "LEADING PEOPLE IN A GROWING RELATIONSHIP WITH JESUS CHRIST". They excel in relationships, are passionate about transformation and know they are winning when multiplication is happening.

Their first “worship service” was in May of 1951. In January of the following year, 14 people committed to organizing as First Baptist Church, to be a light for Christ in the area together. Many years have come and gone since this small, faithful band of Christ followers set out on the journey they continue today. Through it all, struggle and growth, God has been with them as they continue to complete the task He has given them.

Cornerstone Church, with sites in Cokato and Litchfield, Minnesota, is a thriving and growing church family. Their mission is to lead people in a growing relationship with Jesus Christ and they carry out this mission within the essential context of relationship. They are a group of people who take their calling seriously without taking themselves too seriously. They work hard but also have a ton of fun.

Pre-Covid, around 1,100 from every generation worshiped together each week, with a programming emphasis on young families in their 20’s, 30’s and 40’s. A large percentage of the body actively engages in ministry and community throughout the week. They are known in their community as place where all are welcomed regardless of their background. A healthy culture of “family” embraces people from all walks of life in authentic relationships. They are also known for their community involvement, having made numerous intentional and bold steps to connect with and serve diverse people in need. Their commitment to solid yet unpretentious Bible teaching with real-life application reveals ongoing life transformation, as they help people connect to a real God in a grace-filled, safe and relevant setting. Additionally, they are known for how they give and love.

This team loves what they do and have a passion for doing stuff to the best of their ability. They do not take for granted what they get to do. Though they attempt to do excellent work, their relationships with God, family and each other comes first. They don’t want a bunch of people doing great stuff but who don’t know each other. Their desire is to know and serve each other well.

Due to God’s blessing, prayer, the church’s integrity of leadership, inspiring vision, biblical and relational focus, and distinct missional orientation, the Cornerstone family has gained momentum in the size and scope of its ministry atypical of churches in rural areas. They are healthy and proactively positioned for an exciting future of growth and effective ministry on current and future campuses.

    KIDS MINISTRY

    # of Kids: 100-120 (between all ages and two services)

    # of Volunteers 40

Check-in System - Currently ROCK, but they are switching over to Planning Center

Curriculum: Cornerstone is using Orange Curriculum. They have enjoyed Orange but are open to this new leader having the freedom to choose a curriculum that best fits their style.

Cornerstone seeks to provide a fun, relational, and safe place for kids and families to grow together on their faith journey. The staff and team of volunteers are committed to helping kids learn to pursue God, connect with each other, and be part of a growing community.

    NURSERY BIRTH - 24 MONTHS

The nursery is full of babies from birth to 2 years. Cornerstone has created a secure and fun environment where children are loved and cared for by well-trained nursery staff.

    PRE-SCHOOL 2 - 5 YEARS OLDS

They understand that pre-schoolers, and the world is bursting with newness. For pre-schoolers each day is filled with one new discovery after another. Where did that bird come from? Who thought to color the butterfly like that? This is why Cornerstone strives to help families engage in Bible reading like never before by bringing the Bible to life and teaching preschoolers about the story of God's love and God's plan for their life.

    K-5 K - 5TH GRADE

At Cornerstone they believe that Elementary-age kids are in a constant state of discovery. Think about all the different things they are trying for the first time and what they’re learning every day, even how to make (and keep) friends.

The Kids ministry team are answering these questions. How can we tap into the way kids are naturally wired to discover‚ so they can begin to experience for themselves who God is, how He sees them and how much He loves them? How can we show them God’s big story and help them?

Their curriculum and resources (Orange) provoke discovery, inviting kids to live out their new understanding of how to grow in relationship with God and with others, while gaining a deeper understanding of the Bible.

    Midweek:

Currently, there is no midweek programming for kids ministry. There is a growing desire for there to be a mid-week outreach oriented service. This new leader will heave the freedom to work with Thad and the leadership team to dream and design a service that best fits their ministry style and meets the needs of Litchfield.

    GREAT KIDS SPACE

The Kids ministries have an entire wing of the building available to them to us, called The Hub. There is a meeting area, lobby, as well as a large open field and parking lot. The Hub has a large gathering area for services, an area for games, and rooms for small groups. This room has all the needed audio, lighting, video, game stations, furniture, and a stage. This space is truly designed with NextGen in mind.

St. Cloud is a city in the U.S. state of Minnesota and the largest population center in the state's central region. Its population is 67,984 according to the 2017 US census estimates, making it Minnesota's tenth largest city. St. Cloud is the county seat of Stearns County and was named after the city of Saint-Cloud, France (in Île-de-France, near Paris), which was named after the 6th-century French monk Clodoald. Though mostly in Stearns County, St. Cloud also extends into Benton and Sherburne counties, and straddles the Mississippi River. It is the center of a small, contiguous urban area tot...
