    • Serve as an Emergency Services Dispatcher for the Directorate of Emergency Services providing around the clock 24/7 services to the public by answering emergency 911 calls, and dispatches appropriate personnel and equipment.

    • Responsible for the control of all emergency response patrols (fire, police, and ambulance) to include, but not limited to, the dispatching of, rendering assistance/guidance to, and the supplying of critical information to patrol units.

You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.     Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes 1) Determining the nature of the emergency calls; and 2) Dispatching the emergency calls to the appropriate personnel such as law enforcement, fire, or emergency medical services. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-04).

    Education: Four years of education above the high school level obtained in an accredited business, secretarial or technical school, junior college, college or university.

    OR

    Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide your semester hours of education beyond two years (total semester hours minus 60) by 60. Add the two percentages.

    This position requires the following certificates (NOTE: You MUST submit a copy of your license or certification with your application package or you will be rated ineligible):
    • Basic Tele-communicator Certification.
    • State Crime Information Center or National Crime Information Center (NCIC) Certification.
