The Hamilton County Sheriff's Office is accepting applications for 911 Dispatcher/Jailer. Applicants must be a US Citizen, 19 years of age, high school diploma or equivalent, no felony or serious misdemeanor convictions, be of good moral character and have a valid driver's license. Must be willing to work nights, weekends and holidays, and show up to work on time on scheduled days. Schedule includes every other weekend off. Skills to be successful in this job include, being able to multi-task very well, be a good listener, and yet have compassion to be able to control dynamic situations in times of an emergency. Dispatchers have a variety of duties, such as the following: Answer both 911 and non-emergency calls for service. Use computers and computer-aided dispatch. Dispatch and monitor fire departments, rescue and law enforcement. Duties do include managing our inmate population and ensuring the safety and security of the facility.
