Transmits and receives coded and conventional messages. Being an Emergency Dispatcher differentiates between routine, priority, and emergency messages, and initiates or follows through on responses as required. Communicates details of situation and location. Additionally, Emergency Dispatcher enters unit response details into a database. Requires a high school diploma. Typically reports to a supervisor. ```Duties```
- Dispatch ambulances and wheelchair vans. Coordinate scheduled transports.
- Monitor and track units and keep them on schedule.
- Chart review for quality assurance.
- Communicate with drivers, facilities and patients regarding delays etc.
- Handle inquiries and investigate or report any issues or complaints related to transportation services
- Maintain accurate records and update relevant databases
- Collaborate with team to ensure smooth operations and meet customer expectations
- Utilize GPS technology to track vehicles, schedule trips and monitor real-time traffic conditions
- Coordinate with fleet management to schedule vehicle maintenance and repairs

```Qualifications```
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Proven experience as a dispatcher or EMS provider
- Strong knowledge of logistics and transportation management principles
- Proficiency in using Google Sheets, CAD systems, and Zoll EMScharts OR computer literacy sufficient to learn these systems.
- Excellent analytical skills
- Familiarity with GIS and GPS technology
- Ability to multitask, prioritize, and manage time effectively in a fast-paced environment
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Proficient in using phone systems and typing accurately
