Emergency Medical Technician responds to emergency calls for medical assistance, assesses the situation, obtains a basic medical history and physical examination of the patient, and provides emergency care at the scene and during transit to the hospital. Utilizes necessary medical equipment to treat the patient and ascertains the extent of their injuries or illness. Being an Emergency Medical Technician communicates with the medical care facility receiving the patient about the patient's condition, status, and arrival time. May require registry in NREMT. Additionally, Emergency Medical Technician requires a high school diploma or equivalent. Requires Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR). Requires Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) - Basic. Typically reports to a supervisor. The Emergency Medical Technician works under moderate supervision. Gaining or has attained full proficiency in a specific area of discipline.     Duties:
    - Respond to non-emergency calls, emergency calls, as well as public events and provide medical assistance to patients in various settings, including homes, public areas, facilities, doctor's offices, and hospitals.
    - Assess patients' conditions and administer appropriate medical treatments and interventions.
    - Transport patients safely to and from medical facilities, ensuring their comfort and well-being during the journey.
    - Communicate effectively with healthcare professionals, relay patient information, and follow medical protocols.
    - Perform basic life support techniques, such as CPR and first aid, as needed.
    - Maintain accurate and detailed patient records and documentation.
    - Clean and restock medical supplies and equipment after each call.

    Requirements:
    - Valid & current South Carolina certification as an Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) and BLS for Healthcare Provider card.
    - Strong knowledge of South Carolina emergency medical procedures and protocols.
    - Ability to remain calm under pressure and make quick decisions in high-stress situations.
    - Excellent communication skills to interact with patients, their families, and healthcare professionals.

    • 8 hour shift
    • Day shift
    • Evening shift
    • Weekends as needed
