Emergency Medical Technician responds to emergency calls for medical assistance, assesses the situation, obtains a basic medical history and physical examination of the patient, and provides emergency care at the scene and during transit to the hospital. Utilizes necessary medical equipment to treat the patient and ascertains the extent of their injuries or illness. Being an Emergency Medical Technician communicates with the medical care facility receiving the patient about the patient's condition, status, and arrival time. May require registry in NREMT. Additionally, Emergency Medical Technician requires a high school diploma or equivalent. Requires Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR). Requires Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) - Basic. Job Title: Emergency Medical Technician Basic/Advanced
Harris County Emergency Services District No. 48 ("HCESD No. 48" or the "District") is seeking applicants for open positions of Full-Time Emergency Medical Technician Basic/Advanced.
HCESD No. 48 is a combination of Fire and Emergency Medical Services ("EMS") District, providing services to residents of HCESD No. 48 and Fort Bend County Emergency Services District No. 1. Our service area is twenty-nine (29) square miles located on the west side of Harris County, between the cities of Houston and Katy, Texas. The population is approximately 150,000 persons. HCESD No. 48 responded to over fifteen thousand (15,000) Fire and EMS incidents in 2022.
The Emergency Medical Technician Basic/Advanced is an At-Will employee and serves at the discretion of the Fire Chief and the HCESD No. 48 Board of Commissioners.
