Emergency Medical Technician jobs in Jamestown, NY

Emergency Medical Technician responds to emergency calls for medical assistance, assesses the situation, obtains a basic medical history and physical examination of the patient, and provides emergency care at the scene and during transit to the hospital. Utilizes necessary medical equipment to treat the patient and ascertains the extent of their injuries or illness. Being an Emergency Medical Technician communicates with the medical care facility receiving the patient about the patient's condition, status, and arrival time. May require registry in NREMT. Additionally, Emergency Medical Technician requires a high school diploma or equivalent. Requires Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR). Requires Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) - Basic. Typically reports to a supervisor. The Emergency Medical Technician works under moderate supervision. Gaining or has attained full proficiency in a specific area of discipline.     In addition, the emergency vehicle operator is responsible for the following:

    ? Maintaining the ambulance in operable condition, and reporting any problems with vehicle operation as soon as possible.

    ? Cleaning the exterior of the ambulance as needed.

    ? Cleaning the passenger and patient compartments of the ambulance, as needed.

    ? Providing assistance moving the patient into the patient compartment and moving the patient from the patient compartment out of the ambulance.

    ? Refueling the ambulance after each ambulance run with provided company cards, unless on another ambulance run.

    ? Determining vehicle readiness by checking oil, tire pressure, and windshield washer fluid levels as necessary.
