Emergency Medical Technician responds to emergency calls for medical assistance, assesses the situation, obtains a basic medical history and physical examination of the patient, and provides emergency care at the scene and during transit to the hospital. Utilizes necessary medical equipment to treat the patient and ascertains the extent of their injuries or illness. Being an Emergency Medical Technician communicates with the medical care facility receiving the patient about the patient's condition, status, and arrival time. May require registry in NREMT. Additionally, Emergency Medical Technician requires a high school diploma or equivalent. Requires Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR). Requires Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) - Basic. Typically reports to a supervisor. The Emergency Medical Technician works under moderate supervision. Gaining or has attained full proficiency in a specific area of discipline. No Experience Needed:Get paid while being trained. No experience necessary. Job training to become a combat medic specialist consists of 10 weeks of Basic Combat Training and 16 weeks of Advanced Individual Training, including practice in-patient care.Candidates may be exempt from some training requirements and may enter service at a higher pay grade if they have a current American Red Cross certification for Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers and hold an EMT, Advanced EMT, or Paramedic certification with the National Registry Emergency Medical Technicians (NREMT).Position requirements:- US Citizen or Permanent Resident.
- High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent.
- Take the Armed Services Vocational Aptitude Battery test.
- No major medical or mental health issues.
- No major law violations.
