Emergency Medical Technician responds to emergency calls for medical assistance, assesses the situation, obtains a basic medical history and physical examination of the patient, and provides emergency care at the scene and during transit to the hospital. Utilizes necessary medical equipment to treat the patient and ascertains the extent of their injuries or illness. Being an Emergency Medical Technician communicates with the medical care facility receiving the patient about the patient's condition, status, and arrival time. May require registry in NREMT. Additionally, Emergency Medical Technician requires a high school diploma or equivalent. Requires Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR). Requires Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) - Basic. Typically reports to a supervisor. The Emergency Medical Technician works under moderate supervision. Gaining or has attained full proficiency in a specific area of discipline. We offer Full and Part-time schedules, 24- hour shifts.
*Disclaimer: Full-time providers are required to work seven (7) 24-hour shifts in a two week pay period. Part-time providers are required to work two (2) 24-hour shifts per month.
Qualifications, Requirements and Skills:
Possess or ability to obtain State of Nebraska licensure at current provider level.
At Priority Medical Transport we encourage advancement of our provider’s knowledge and skills. You will have the opportunity to see a wide array of medical and trauma patients with extended care times between facilities. Training is provided in house as well as the ability to attend training classes that will advance you as a provider in a multitude of disciplines. Advanced care includes: trauma injury management, advanced airway management respective to the BLS level, IV initiation and management, and much more.
