Job Title: Emergency Medical Technician Basic/Advanced

Harris County Emergency Services District No. 48 ("HCESD No. 48" or the "District") is seeking applicants for open positions of Full-Time Emergency Medical Technician Basic/Advanced.

HCESD No. 48 is a combination of Fire and Emergency Medical Services ("EMS") District, providing services to residents of HCESD No. 48 and Fort Bend County Emergency Services District No. 1. Our service area is twenty-nine (29) square miles located on the west side of Harris County, between the cities of Houston and Katy, Texas. The population is approximately 150,000 persons. HCESD No. 48 responded to over fifteen thousand (15,000) Fire and EMS incidents in 2022.

The Emergency Medical Technician Basic/Advanced is an At-Will employee and serves at the discretion of the Fire Chief and the HCESD No. 48 Board of Commissioners.

Duties include but are not limited to:

1. Provide care and treatment to the sick and injured at the BLS level.
2. Safely operate the ambulance while responding to scenes and the hospital.
3. Respond to "calls for service" as dispatched, assigned, or requested.
4. Complete ambulance, drug, and station check-off and station duties on arrival for shift.
5. Maintain ambulances and stations by keeping them clean and in operational order.
6. Manage and restock supplies as consumed or needed, including fueling the ambulance.
7. Perform public relations functions as requested by Command Staff.
8. Assure run records are appropriately completed in a timely fashion.
9. Function within the Incident Command System ("ICS") and National Incident Management System ("NIMS") as utilized by HCESD No. 48.
10. Participate in general staff meetings and Call Review process as requested.
11. Other duties as assigned by on-duty Battalion Chief of EMS (Supervisor 3), or Assistant Fire Chief of EMS.
12. After ninety (90) days the Advanced EMT may request to participate in the ALS credentialing process
