Emergency Medical Technician responds to emergency calls for medical assistance, assesses the situation, obtains a basic medical history and physical examination of the patient, and provides emergency care at the scene and during transit to the hospital. Utilizes necessary medical equipment to treat the patient and ascertains the extent of their injuries or illness. Being an Emergency Medical Technician communicates with the medical care facility receiving the patient about the patient's condition, status, and arrival time. May require registry in NREMT. Additionally, Emergency Medical Technician requires a high school diploma or equivalent. Requires Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR). Requires Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) - Basic. Typically reports to a supervisor. The Emergency Medical Technician works under moderate supervision. Gaining or has attained full proficiency in a specific area of discipline. Currently seeking experienced and enthusiastic individuals to fill EMT positions to respond to non-emergency medical calls and inter-facility transports. Prospective applicants must have clean criminal and driving record. Applicants must have a valid NC EMT certification, current CPR, and a valid North Carolina Class C drivers license. Prospective applicants will be required to pass a pre-employment drug screen, criminal, driving record check. This work involves periods of strenuous activity and can require lifting and carrying loads in excess of 100 lbs. Shift work will include 8 and 12 hr shifts, day and/or nights. Friendly Medical Transportation is a 24/7 service.
