    Salary: $74,000/yr.


    Minimum Qualifications (Job Code 11413 Category 4)


    Bachelor’s degree in a health-related field from a regionally accredited institution and a minimum of 2 years’ experience as an instructor in the emergency medical services field. Current State of GA Paramedic license or NREMT Paramedic, current GA EMS Instructor Coordinator-Paramedic or ability to obtain within 6 months of hire, current BLS and ACLS Instructor certification. Current BLS and ACLS certified. 

     

    Preferred Qualifications: 

    In addition to the minimum qualifications, Master’s degree in a health-related field from a regionally accredited institution.  Minimum of five years teaching experience in a CoAEMSP Accredited Paramedic Program preferred. PHTLS and PALS instructing experience.  Proficiency in preparation and delivery of instruction, advisement, and curriculum development.  Demonstrated ability to collaborate and work effectively with faculty, staff, and students, in a collegial and multicultural environment.  Excellent interpersonal, motivational, and communication skills.  In addition to the minimum qualifications, demonstrated experience with a variety of teaching strategies including the use of advanced instructional technologies. Demonstrated ability to collaborate and work effectively with faculty, staff, students, and the community. Proficient in written and oral communication. Demonstrated occupational competency. Must be computer literate with the ability to use common software programs.  Some experience with online instruction a plus.

     

    Job Description Summary:

    Under general supervision, serve as program director and perform duties which include curriculum design and development; instruction, recruitment, and advisement of students; budgeting; and management of adjunct faculty. Responsible for the ongoing development, implementation and instruction of the Emergency Medical Services program.  The program director will be responsible for teaching a minimum of 15 contact hours of day or evening instructional courses per semester.  Duties also include participation in college committees and participation in professional enhancement. Evaluates students' progress in attaining goals and objectives. Requests and maintains supplies and equipment and prepares budget requests. Maintains program certification requirements, as appropriate. Prepares and maintains all required documentation and administrative reports. Attends staff development training, workshops, seminars and conferences. Ensures safety and security requirements are met in the training area. Meets with students, staff members and other educators to discuss students' instructional programs and other issues. Assists with recruitment, retention and job placement efforts.

    ·        Completes all reports and records promptly maintains an accurate inventory of all assigned properties.

    ·        Prepares reports on the current status of students in the program indicating whether performance is aligned with performance indicators, program goals and progress schedule.

    ·        Ensures consistency in syllabi, lesson plans, tests, and other appropriate materials.
