    Schedule: 7p - 7a SATURDAY NIGHTS

    RESPONSIBILITIES: Provide direct patient care, evaluate outcomes, and adjust nursing care processes as indicated to ensure optimal patient care.

    • Perform a head-to-toe assessment on all patients and reassessment as per policy. (Pediatric, adolescent and geriatric patients and the general patient population).
    • Use triage process to ensure timely and appropriate care to patients.
    • Assess and reassess pain. Utilize appropriate pain management techniques. Educate patient and family regarding pain management.
    • Monitor hemodynamic status of patient and correctly interpret the results.
    • Identify dysrhythmias and treat appropriately.
    • Perform waived lab testing in accordance with laboratory policies and procedures.
    • Interpret the results of waived lab tests; take appropriate action on results.
    • Ensure correct medication administration based on age of the patient and his/her clinical condition.
    • Prepare, hang, monitor and discontinue IV fluids.
    • Prepare, administer, monitor and discontinue respiratory treatments.
    • Maintain accurate and continued nursing documentation including patient histories, conditions, treatments, responses and assessment of changes.
    • Assist physicians with procedures.
    • Communicate with Emergency Physicians about changes in patient’s status, symptomatology, and results of diagnostic studies.
    • Formulate a teaching plan based on identified learning needs and evaluate effectiveness of learning; includes family in teaching, as appropriate.
    • Perform other related duties as assigned or requested.
