We are seeking an experienced Permanent Director of SCADA & Network Communications to join our dynamic team in the energy industry. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the development, implementation, and maintenance of our Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) systems, Network Communications, and PLC programming. We’re looking for someone who can lead the engineering and operations/troubleshooting oversight for a network of radio/internet/cell communication devices as well as a multi-entity Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) system. The job would include hardware and software set-up, programming, and coordination with third-party electrical engineering and IT resources to support 24/7 operations. This role requires a deep understanding of hardware and software systems, as well as a strong background in electrical engineering. The ideal candidate will have a passion for creating innovative solutions and a commitment to enhancing operational efficiency.
Responsibilities:
1. Oversee the design, development, and implementation of SCADA systems and network communications infrastructure.
2. Develop and implement strategies for improving the reliability, security, and efficiency of SCADA and network communications systems.
3. Lead a team of engineers in the development and maintenance of PLC programs.
4. Collaborate with other departments to identify operational needs and develop solutions to meet these needs.
5. Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations related to SCADA and network communications systems.
6. Provide technical leadership and expertise in the area of SCADA and network communications.
7. Develop and manage the budget for SCADA and network communications operations.
8. Stay updated on the latest trends and advancements in the field of SCADA and network communications, and incorporate this knowledge into strategic planning and decision-making.
Qualifications:
1. Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or certifications are desirable.
2. A minimum of 5 years of experience in SCADA, PLC, and network communications.
3. Proven experience in the development, implementation, and maintenance of SCADA systems and network communications infrastructure.
4. Strong knowledge of PLC programming, hardware, and software systems.
5. Excellent leadership and team management skills.
6. Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to think strategically and analytically.
7. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate complex technical information in a clear and understandable manner.
8. Proficiency in relevant programming languages and software applications.
9. Familiarity with industry standards and regulations related to SCADA and network communications systems.
10. A commitment to continuous learning and professional development.
