Position Summary: The communications director will create, organize, plan, and implement effective communications for church and community audiences. The individual will work with the pastors to assess communication needs and support ministry leaders in conveying their vision and communication priorities to appropriate audiences.
Job Classification: This is a full-time exempt position, averaging 40 hours per week, with certain hours required in the office and others able to be worked remotely.
Key responsibilities:
· Ensure the highest quality communications are created for both internal and external audiences
· Partner with ministries to create a communication plan to mobilize their specific audiences to respond
· Create opportunities for our members to share what God is up to in their lives and ministry, seeing themselves as part of God’s story
· Unify and align all communications, continuing to further develop branding consistency and marketing strategies
Specific tasks will include but are not limited to:
· Design, produce/write, edit, and distribute regular communication publications, including a weekly email newsletter, weekend bulletin, worship and event graphics, posters, and brochures
· Manage TVLC’s website including content development
· Oversee and develop exterior signage and banners
· Regularly capture and solicit quality photos to be used in TVLC communications
· Produce authentic and appealing videos that provide both a recap of events and future promos (i.e. ministry highlights, special events, stewardship, worship)
· Oversee and implement TVLC’s social media engagement and digital presence, creating and distributing content consistent with TVLC’s mission and vision
· Collaborate with the pastors to create stewardship campaign materials
· Assemble, format, and produce the annual congregational report
· Explore ways to expand TVLC’s reach, including new social media platforms, advertising, and search engine optimization
Abilities/ Skills:
· Strong writing and editing skills
· Strong design and graphic arts abilities
· Proficiency in WordPress, Canva, Constant Contact, Photoshop, Premiere Pro or Final Cut Pro and Microsoft Office Suite
· Ability to problem solve and learn new software
· Ability to learn and adapt to specific church culture
· Self-motivated and self-directed
· Strong organizational skills and the ability to multitask
· Deadline and detail-oriented
· Excellent interpersonal skills

Education/Training/Experience:
· Degree in Communications, Marketing, or related field preferred
· Previous experience in communications and/or marketing
· Experience in a church environment
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $19.00 - $23.00 per hour
