Employee Communications Manager manages the daily operations of the internal communication programs within an organization. Implements and participates in the design of communication programs to support and reinforce organizational objectives and comply with regulations. Being an Employee Communications Manager develops messaging themes and content. Ensures the accuracy of information distributed and standards using quality processes. Additionally, Employee Communications Manager collaborates with public relations or corporate communications teams on projects. Oversees vendors providing support services. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a director. The Employee Communications Manager manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. To be an Employee Communications Manager typically requires 5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. 1 - 3 years supervisory experience may be required.     What's the Short Version?

    The General Manager is responsible for driving strategic Distribution Center (DC) objectives as well as directly/indirectly managing the tactical execution through the leadership team. They develop, achieve, and maintain goals and objectives which support Company initiatives. The General Manager hires, manages, and motivates DC team members.

     

    What Will You Be Doing?

    • Direct, lead, and drive all aspects of the Distribution Center, including both people and processes.
    • Analyze business and performance trends and metrics to identify, develop, and recommend future strategic solutions, programs, and policies to Distribution leadership to address competitive, complex business issues.
    • Monitor expenses to ensure costs are in line with Company guidance.
    • Partner with Human Resources and other departments to provide high quality resources and support on initiatives regarding DEI, workforce planning and management, and workplace safety.
    • Recruit, train, and develop leaders; identify leadership teams’ skills and develop them by coaching and counseling on a regular basis.
    • Initiate, review, and monitor DC vendor contracts.

     

    What Are We Looking For?

    • Bachelor's Degree in related field or equivalent work experience.
    • 7-9 years Experience in a high-volume distribution environment.
    • 4-6 years of experience leading and facilitating cross-functional teams.
    • 4-6 years of Distribution Center management experience is preferred.
    • Strong interpersonal and negotiation skills.
    • Strong conflict management skills.
    • Strong attention to detail.
    • Ability to manage difficult employee situations in a professional manner.
    • Ability to build strong, positive rapport with associates in a team environment; ability to lead through personal example that communicates integrity, core values, and consistency in decision-making.
    • Demonstrates flexibility and the ability to quickly adapt to change in the work environment.
    • Demonstrates accuracy and thoroughness and monitors work to ensure quality.
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
    • Ability to work in high-demand, high-volume environment while meeting deadlines.
    • Ability to work both independently and as a team member.
    • Bilingual (Spanish/English) is a plus.

    Bonus: You`ll be eligible for an annual discretionary bonus up to 15% of base salary.

     

    Paid Time Off: You`ll accrue paid time off on a bi-weekly basis based on hours worked up to 152 hours per year to start. Employees also receive 8 paid holidays and 1 paid family day off.

    What Should You Expect?

    DC Office: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is constantly required to stand and walk. The employee may lift and/or move up to 30 pounds. The employee is frequently required to reach with hands and arms, grasp and perform repetitive hand, wrist and arm motions. The employee is frequently required to climb stairs, kneel/squat, bend and carry. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. Basic literacy is required for operation of machines and necessary daily paperwork. Ability to work on computer and mobile phone for multiple hours; with frequent interruptions. Work environment is moderately noisy. The employee is occasionally required to work near conveyor systems. There is exposure to dust and changes in weather conditions. Work is performed under typical warehouse conditions. Potential hazards exist with regard to machinery such as forklifts, pallet jacks, mechanized systems, etc. Work environment is hectic and fast-paced. The employee is regularly exposed to ambient lighting and can be exposed to extreme heat and extreme cold including climates consistent with outside weather conditions.
