Employee Development Specialist implements and supports programs aligned with leadership development strategy and strategic business imperatives to develop management capabilities throughout the workforce. Maintains frameworks that represent skills and leadership capabilities that are critical to long-term and short-term objectives. Being a Employee Development Specialist supports training, coaching, professional development, and experiential assignments that make up the leadership development strategy. Fosters a culture of informal knowledge exchange, coaching, and training throughout the organization to engage and develop the workforce. Additionally, Employee Development Specialist promotes training and development programs and career pathing initiatives. Prepares analysis and reporting of leadership development efforts and results. May participate in periodic succession planning exercises and talent assessments to ensure critical roles are defined. Helps to create slates of individuals identified for leadership development activities. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a manager. The Employee Development Specialist occasionally directed in several aspects of the work. Gaining exposure to some of the complex tasks within the job function.     Position Description:
    The Engagement and Retention Specialist fosters employee engagement and onboarding programs and initiatives to drive retention, enhance the overall employment experience, and ensure alignment with company culture. This person is responsible for but not limited to creating and implementing a retention strategy with measurable outcomes, issuing and maintaining pre-employment checks, conducting new hire orientations, maintaining a consistent presence on the shop floor, and assisting with recruiting strategies.
    Primary Responsibilities:
    • Create, implement, and drive employee engagement, retention and onboarding strategies, initiatives, and programs in partnership with Human Resources Department and operations leaders
    • Assist in establishing a culture of openness, honesty, and integrity through solid associate relation practices and communication by supported fair and consistent practices
    • Conduct employee stay interviews and exit interviews to gather feedback regarding the employment experience
    • Document the feedback collected and integrate strategies to support feedback
    • Develop and implement a basic communication strategy for the organization that supports both English and Spanish to include translating company documents and acting as a translator for communicating with Spanish speaking employees
    • Build relationships with employees at all stages of employment (new hires and tenured) and serve as an ambassador for employees to provide feedback to the correct leaders about the employment experience
    • Assist with factory recruiting plan to include developing resources for future staffing
    • Utilize the applicant tracking system by creating and submitting non-exempt offer letters and submitting candidates for pre-employment testing
    • Lead a comprehensive onboarding program that supports new team members through the first 90-days to set them up for long term success with the company
    • Maintain all employment records including but not limited to I-9 form, W-4 form, and all other employment related documents
    • Act as a liaison with staffing agencies to fill temporary factory roles
    • Assist with succession planning initiatives
    • Track and report on key turnover and retention metrics
    • Complete other tasks as assigned by Human Resources Department
