Employee Development Specialist implements and supports programs aligned with leadership development strategy and strategic business imperatives to develop management capabilities throughout the workforce. Maintains frameworks that represent skills and leadership capabilities that are critical to long-term and short-term objectives. Being a Employee Development Specialist supports training, coaching, professional development, and experiential assignments that make up the leadership development strategy. Fosters a culture of informal knowledge exchange, coaching, and training throughout the organization to engage and develop the workforce. Additionally, Employee Development Specialist promotes training and development programs and career pathing initiatives. Prepares analysis and reporting of leadership development efforts and results. May participate in periodic succession planning exercises and talent assessments to ensure critical roles are defined. Helps to create slates of individuals identified for leadership development activities. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a manager. BASIC FUNCTION: The specialist provides employment and training services to individuals who may be dependent upon public benefits, have disabilities, be un-employed, under-employed, or have other barriers to employment. These services include client recruitment and orientation activities, the development and implementation of a service plan, job placement including job development, employment counseling and post employment follow-up services.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
EQUIVALENT EDUCATION LEVEL REQUIRED: Bachelors' degree
EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: One year personnel, guidance, sales, or social work experience. Master's degree in these areas will be accepted in lieu of experience.
KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED: Social awareness, industrial procedures, record keeping, local geography, world of work, job market, computer literacy, oral and written communication skills, employment preparation skills, and area industries, area social service, and health agencies.
INCIDENTAL REQUIREMENTS: N.Y. State Driver’s license. Personal automobile for company business use.
