PROVIDER DEVELOPMENT SPECIALIST

JOB SUMMARY
The Provider Relations Specialist – Program Development. is responsible for
recruiting, educating, and assisting potential providers with the application and
certification process.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
- Typical tasks may include, but are not limited to the following:
- Recruit and assist in the selection of providers.
- Inform, educate, and assist potential providers with the application and certification process.
- Identifies and helps remove barriers to the certification process.
- Assists with the provider certification process as assigned.
- Identify barriers to increasing provider capacity.
- Develop workaround solutions as well as advocate for permanent solutions to overcoming barriers that exist to increase provider capacity.
- Responsible for problem-solving, report preparation, and development of effective strategies for provider development.
- Conducts provider education and orientation to ensure the provider is well-acquainted with policies and procedures.
- Conducts ongoing training of providers to enhance quality service delivery.
- Assists in areas of contract process for Medicaid Waiver programs and other programs as assigned.
- Organize provider data assigned. Prepare various reports and listings for Provider Relations, clinical staff, and agency needs.
- Attend provider relations training and meetings sponsored by ODA and other related agencies as assigned.
- Ensure the collection of data is systematic, continuous, and confidential, as well as, accessible, communicated, and recorded.
- Maintain an effective record keeping system and confidentiality of consumer data. Complete and submit work within established time frames.
- Prepare and review reports in an accurate and timely manner as assigned.
- Promotes positive employee relations and fosters excellent customer service.
- Performs duties with respectful communication and behaviors.
- Performs other tasks as required by the position.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Prefer bachelor’s degree in education, planning, business or public administration, human resources, social sciences, or related experience in provider relations and contract management. Ability to collect, assemble, and disseminate information in an orderly fashion according to established timelines.
Weekly Schedule:
Currently – Monday to Friday, 7.5 hours/day, 37.5 hours/week
4-day schedule – Either Monday to Thursday or Tuesday to Friday, 8.5 hours/day, 34 hours/week
