Employee Development Specialist implements and supports programs aligned with leadership development strategy and strategic business imperatives to develop management capabilities throughout the workforce. Maintains frameworks that represent skills and leadership capabilities that are critical to long-term and short-term objectives. Being a Employee Development Specialist supports training, coaching, professional development, and experiential assignments that make up the leadership development strategy. Fosters a culture of informal knowledge exchange, coaching, and training throughout the organization to engage and develop the workforce. Additionally, Employee Development Specialist promotes training and development programs and career pathing initiatives. Prepares analysis and reporting of leadership development efforts and results. May participate in periodic succession planning exercises and talent assessments to ensure critical roles are defined. Helps to create slates of individuals identified for leadership development activities. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a manager. The Employee Development Specialist occasionally directed in several aspects of the work. Gaining exposure to some of the complex tasks within the job function.   • JOB PURPOSE: The Employee Relations Specialist is responsible for the development and administration of the employee relations program and employee advocacy. This position interfaces with employees and outside agencies. In this role, the successful team member will be primarily responsible for investigating employee complaints, determining appropriate discipline and issuing the same, and managing and processing all types of separations on behalf of the Company. Additionally, this role will be responsible for taking a leadership role in employee events and years of service ceremonies.

    ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: Specific duties and day-to-day tasks of the Employee Relations Specialist are prompted by assignments, and by requirements to fulfill responsibilities established by the Supervisor. These duties include, but are not limited to, the following:

    • Provide support to employees at all levels for various HR-related topics, such as policy concerns, interpersonal relations, disciplinary matters, and resolve issues that arise.
    • Conducts, oversees and/or otherwise assists with employee relation issues to manage employee concerns and grievances and to identify and implement appropriate employee action and accountability practices.
    • Identifies fair and inclusive processes appropriate for employee concerns or grievances including overseeing employee fact-finding and ensuring adherence to employee relations policies and practices.
    • Provide advice and support to various levels of management as it relates to employee issues/concerns, discipline, Company policies, and general HR topics.
    • Promote HR programs to create an efficient and conflict-free workplace.
    • Coordinate investigations into any issues that might arise.
    • Complete HR reporting for various levels of management.

    • Oversees the use of effective documentation techniques and maintains accurate, confidential records regarding all reported matters and fact-finding documentation.
    • Manage HRIS Employee Relations platforms.
    • Coordinate and deliver New Hire Orientation on a fill in or as needed basis
    • Adhere to all QNEB Personnel Manual, Title 97 and TERO Policies. Perform other duties as required or assigned.
    • Perform other related duties as required and assigned.

    QUALIFICATIONS:

    Required:

    • Bachelor’s degree plus 2 to 4 years working in an HR setting. Candidates without a bachelor’s degree and 5 years of experience will also be considered.
    • Completion of HIPAA training within 6 months of being hired. Preferred:
    • SHRM-CP, PHR, or THRP certification

    LICENSE REQUIREMENTS:

    • Class III Gaming License (Quinault and Washington State)
    • Valid Washington State Driver’s License, insurable through company insurance.
