Employee Development Specialist implements and supports programs aligned with leadership development strategy and strategic business imperatives to develop management capabilities throughout the workforce. Maintains frameworks that represent skills and leadership capabilities that are critical to long-term and short-term objectives. Being a Employee Development Specialist supports training, coaching, professional development, and experiential assignments that make up the leadership development strategy. Fosters a culture of informal knowledge exchange, coaching, and training throughout the organization to engage and develop the workforce. Additionally, Employee Development Specialist promotes training and development programs and career pathing initiatives. Prepares analysis and reporting of leadership development efforts and results. May participate in periodic succession planning exercises and talent assessments to ensure critical roles are defined. Helps to create slates of individuals identified for leadership development activities. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a manager. The Employee Development Specialist occasionally directed in several aspects of the work. Gaining exposure to some of the complex tasks within the job function.     • Position Summary
      • This position has MaineHealth system level responsibilities and facilitates the Reasonable Accommodation Interactive Process with employees managers and HR. Additionally this position has shared responsibility with HR leadership and legal resources to develop and continuously improve the Interactive Process and associated workflows/documentation. Ensures legal compliance with all programs. Collaborates with various departments and external vendors to ensure appropriate review and resolution of complex cases. Communicates with, advise and educates (formally and informally) management, employees, HR and other employer representatives on the ADA and how it is implemented within MaineHealth.
    • Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)
      • Education: Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources (or related field) or comparable work experience.
      • License/Certifications: Valid driver's license as this position has system level responsibility requiring the ability to travel to the various members of MaineHealth.
      • Experience: A minimum of 3 years of direct involvement in the ADA Interactive Process. Minimum of 3 years of Human Resources experience in healthcare setting including leave administration. Ten years of general business work experience or combination of educations and experience.
      • Superior analytical skills in interpretation of issues, problem solving, conducting financial analysis and use of computer office products and HRIS systems.
      • Knowledge of state and federal regulations in the areas of ADA, Leaves of Absence (FMLA/MFL), Maine, WC, STD and LTD programs.
