Employee Development Specialist implements and supports programs aligned with leadership development strategy and strategic business imperatives to develop management capabilities throughout the workforce. Maintains frameworks that represent skills and leadership capabilities that are critical to long-term and short-term objectives. Being a Employee Development Specialist supports training, coaching, professional development, and experiential assignments that make up the leadership development strategy. Fosters a culture of informal knowledge exchange, coaching, and training throughout the organization to engage and develop the workforce. Additionally, Employee Development Specialist promotes training and development programs and career pathing initiatives. Prepares analysis and reporting of leadership development efforts and results. May participate in periodic succession planning exercises and talent assessments to ensure critical roles are defined. Helps to create slates of individuals identified for leadership development activities. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a manager. The Employee Development Specialist occasionally directed in several aspects of the work. Gaining exposure to some of the complex tasks within the job function.     The diverse Benderson portfolio includes retail, office, industrial, hotel, residential, and land holdings. Maintenance is performed at commercial properties within an assigned location and territory. The Maintenance team provides routine minor repairs under general supervisor. The repairs involve, plumbing, carpentry, electrical work, landscaping, and the overall cleanliness of Benderson Development properties.

    Principle Duties & Responsibilities

    • Perform routine, repetitive daily inspection of the building exterior. Notify management of problems/concerns. Perform general grounds-keeping daily.
    • Maintain outside of plaza area, through the painting of light pole bases, curbs, and railings, sweeping, washing windows, and general cleanup and maintenance. Trim/depose of tree branches, clear rubbish. Keep disposal areas clean.
    • A 40-hour work week with additional overtime opportunity, M-F - 7 AM- 6 PM availability. Must be willing to work on call with a set schedule. Must be able to respond to center emergencies on an on-call basis including evenings, weekends, and holidays.

    Qualifications

    • 2 years preferred of satisfactory work experience, preferably in a maintenance-related field.
    • Ability to work flexible hours and perform duties in an orderly fashion under general supervision.
    • Valid New York State driver's license is required.

    Physical Requirements

    • Ability to lift 75 pounds, operate necessary equipment, climb extension ladders, and roof access ladders on commercial buildings.
    • Extended periods of standing, walking, and sitting while driving to locations.

    Pay Range

    $20.00 -$28.00 per hour
    **Please note that final offer amount will be dependent on geographic location, applicable experience and skillset of the candidate.
