Employee Development Specialist implements and supports programs aligned with leadership development strategy and strategic business imperatives to develop management capabilities throughout the workforce. Maintains frameworks that represent skills and leadership capabilities that are critical to long-term and short-term objectives. Being a Employee Development Specialist supports training, coaching, professional development, and experiential assignments that make up the leadership development strategy. Fosters a culture of informal knowledge exchange, coaching, and training throughout the organization to engage and develop the workforce. Additionally, Employee Development Specialist promotes training and development programs and career pathing initiatives. Prepares analysis and reporting of leadership development efforts and results. May participate in periodic succession planning exercises and talent assessments to ensure critical roles are defined. Helps to create slates of individuals identified for leadership development activities. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a manager. The Employee Development Specialist occasionally directed in several aspects of the work. Gaining exposure to some of the complex tasks within the job function.     What's the Short Version?

    The Manager, Sales Training plays a pivotal role in developing and implementing comprehensive training programs that enhance the skills and capabilities of our sales team. This role also leads leadership development initiatives and provides mentoring to individuals within the Sales organization.

     

    What Will You Be Doing?

    • Oversee a team of trainers and our internal Inside Sales Support team, providing guidance, support, and mentorship to ensure consistency and excellence in training delivery.
    • Design and execute tailored leadership development programs for both Sales leadership and high-potential team members.
    • Provide one-on-one coaching to Sales team members, focusing on skill development and career growth.
    • Serve as a mentor to individuals seeking guidance and personal development.
    • Conduct regular performance evaluations, identify areas for improvement, and implement development plans for individual trainers.
    • Foster a collaborative and positive team culture, encouraging knowledge-sharing and continuous learning through mentoring & coaching.
    • Work closely with curriculum designers to align training programs with organizational goals, updating and enhancing training content based on evolving business requirements, best practices and program feedback.
    • Provide input and feedback on the development of training materials, ensuring they are engaging, effective, and relevant to the success of the Sales team.
    • Communicate training initiatives, progress, and results to key stakeholders and leadership.
    • Collaborate with HR to integrate training and development efforts with broader organizational goals.
    • Conduct regular audits of training sessions, materials, and assessments to identify areas for improvement and maintain high training standards.
    • Establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to assess the impact of training on individual and team performance.
    • Collaborate with management to integrate technology solutions that enhance training delivery, tracking, and reporting.
    • Explore innovative ways to leverage e-learning platforms and other digital tools to optimize the training experience for Sales team members.
    • Lead regular meetings with trainers, curriculum designers, and key stakeholders to gather feedback and identify areas for improvement in training programs.
    • Implement a continuous improvement framework, ensuring that training content and methods evolve to meet the changing needs of the Sales organization.

     

    What Are We Looking For?

    • Bachelor's Degree in education, training/development, or similar field.
    • 1-3 years experience as a Training Manager or similar role, preferably in a sales environment.
    • 4-6 years experience conducting trainings and developing training programs.
    • Strong understanding of leadership curriculum and program development principles and practices.
    • Excellent coaching and mentoring skills.
    • Ability to collaborate with diverse teams and adapt to changing priorities.
    • Results-oriented with a focus on continuous improvement.
    • Expertise with modern and traditional training methods.
    • Excellent leadership and motivational skills.
    • Ability to plan, manage time and multitask effectively.
    • Must demonstrate advanced level platform presentation and facilitation skills.
    • Must embody professionalism and possess exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Ability to travel up to 10 times per year.

     

    What's Our Offer?

    Salary Range: You`ll earn between $90,000 - $120,000 annually, depending on experience.

     

    Bonus: You`ll be eligible for an annual discretionary bonus up to 15% of base salary.

     

    Paid Time Off: You`ll accrue paid time off on a bi-weekly basis based on hours worked up to 152 hours per year to start. Employees also receive 8 paid holidays and 1 paid family day off.

    What Should You Expect?

    Hybrid: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit; reach with hands and arms and talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to use hands to finger, handle or feel. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. Work environment is moderately quiet. Ability to work on computer for multiple hours with frequent interruptions.

    SanMar's Eastpointe office is located near Seattle, WA and our standard working hours are 8:00-5:00 PST. Quarterly travel may be required.
