Employee Health Services Manager is responsible for managing the employee health service functions of the organization. Administers healthcare program operations and supervises subordinate staff.     Under supervision of the Manager of Occupational Health & Safety, the Registered Nurse will perform selected clinical services for hospital employees, volunteers, physicians, students and contractors.  Responsibilities include performing Post-Offer Pre-Placement Health Screenings, administering TB Skin Tests and vaccinations, conducting fit tests and providing PAPR (Powered Air Purifying Respirator) training. In addition, the EH Coordinator may be scheduled to provide TB Skin Test Administration Training to individuals or groups as needed. The EH Coordinator will also assist with Employee Health program and policy development and revision. The EH Coordinator will function collaboratively and exercise independent judgment to provide high quality of care as indicated by employee and clinical
    needs related to Occupational Health & Safety.

     

     


    Responsibilities
    • Adheres to established hospital/departmental policies & procedures and objectives; Quality Assessment and
      Improvement Programs; legal, safety, environmental, and infection control standards and the Nurse Practice Act.
    • Administers Post-Offer Pre-Placement Health Screenings, which includes a review of the employee's medical history and
      performance of a general health screening specific to the healthcare worker's job description.
    • Upon completion of the Post-Offer Pre-Placement Health Screening, determines fitness for duty in accordance with
      Occupational Health & Safety Department policies & procedures and the Americans with Disabilities Act.
    • Administers TB skin tests and communicable disease immunizations, including Hepatitis B, MMR, Varicella, Tdap,
      Menigioccal and Seasonal Influenza Vaccinations.
    • Reviews and certifies the OSHA Respiratory Questionnaire in accordance with the approved Occupational Health &
      Safety Department policies and procedures.
    • Completes the OSHA Respirator Questionnaire and administers Fit Tests for the N95 mask utilizing the PortACount.
    • Provides training in the use and maintenance of the Power Air Purified Respirator (PAPR) in accordance with the
      Cal/OSHA ATD Standard.
    • Provides evaluation and first aid treatment to employees and volunteers who sustain minor occupational injuries,
      illnesses and exposures.
    • Reviews and certifies the results of the initial bloodborne pathogen exposure seriologic testing in accordance with the
      approved Occupational Health & Safety Department Standardized Procedure.
    • Evaluates employee fitness for duty prior to return to work following absence due to a non-industrial illness or injury.
    • Provides TB Administration Competency Training to the Emergency Department personnel assigned to administer
      employee TB Skin Tests upon request.
    • Assists healthcare workers in the selection and use of patient handling equipment; provides hands on training in the use
      of patient handling equipment.
    • Provides clinical supervision to the OH&S Department nursing personnel in the administration of the Post-Offer Pre-
      Placement Health Screenings, TB Skin Tests and immunizations.
    • Assists the Occupational Health & Safety Department Manager in the development of department policies & procedures
      and report preparation.
    • Establishes and maintains interpersonal relationships with patients, visitors and other hospital personnel, while
      maintaining confidentiality of patient information.
    • Demonstrates and understanding of the approaches to and methods of Continuous Quality Improvement (Focus PDCA).
    • Enhances professional growth and development through participation in education programs, current literature, meetings
      and workshops.

     


    Qualifications
    • Graduate of Accredited RN school of Nursing.
    • Registered Nurse with current California license.
    • Minimum (1) year experience as a Registered Nurse required in Occupational, public health, or must have clinic/outpatient setting experience.
    • Current AHA BLS ACLS required.
    • Current certification in speciality area preferred
    • LA City Fire Safety Card Required within 90 days from hire.
