Employee Health Services Manager is responsible for managing the employee health service functions of the organization. Administers healthcare program operations and supervises subordinate staff. Being an Employee Health Services Manager ensures that all medical records are kept in a manner compliant with appropriate policies and procedures. May be responsible for administering employee physicals, injury related diagnoses, or other types of referrals according to OSHA regulations. Additionally, Employee Health Services Manager may provide consultation regarding workers' compensation, infection control or other employee health related issues. Typically requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a director or head of a unit/department. Typically requires a registered nurse. The Employee Health Services Manager typically manages through subordinate managers and professionals in larger groups of moderate complexity. Provides input to strategic decisions that affect the functional area of responsibility. May give input into developing the budget. Capable of resolving escalated issues arising from operations and requiring coordination with other departments.     Responsibilities

    Position Summary:

     

    Under the direction of the Manager of Dominican Hospital Employee Health, is responsible for performing support activities for the Employee Health Services Department. Responsibilities include scheduling of appointments, greeting clients, clerical support and daily operations of the department. This position provides both front and back office services including but not limited to the following duties: front office reception; scheduling of appointments within and outside of the organization; chart set up, employee/contracted data entry, and scanning; new injury provider scheduling, claim set up and transitional work placement if indicated; filing, copying, managing employee data spreadsheets and ordering office department supplies. This position coordinates with high organizational and professional communication expectations for external and internal customer satisfaction, while complying with Dignity Health Policies, and Dignity Health Mission and Values.


    Qualifications

    Minimum:

     

    • Minimum of two years office experience with Workers Compensation and Employee Health processes, including California regulations for Health Care Workers, laws and regulations.
    • Excel and Word processing and data entry skills
    • Analytical ability to gather and summarize data for reports, prioritize work
    • Excellent communication skills and interpersonal skills
    • Knowledge of Employee Health and Workers Compensation fundamental principles and practices
    • Knowledge of Workers Compensation, claims entry, self-insurance and reporting requirements.

     

    Preferred:

     

    • Progressive experience working in a Employee Health support function
    • Experience with an employer having 100 or more employees with varied vocational skills
    • Health information / medical records training
    • Medical Assistant experience
