Employee Performance Specialist develops, implements, and administers programs that evaluate, measure, and improve employee performance. Conducts assessment activities to evaluate and identify the current and emerging skills, competencies, and behaviors required to achieve desired organizational results and prepare for future needs. Being a Employee Performance Specialist designs performance management strategies and processes that measure outcomes, identify areas for improvement, and align teams to organizational goals. Identifies the types of training and development and resources needed to achieve workforce performance improvements. Additionally, Employee Performance Specialist encourages a culture of objective setting and result measurement aligned to pay and rewards using tools, training, and communication. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department. The Employee Performance Specialist work is generally independent and collaborative in nature.   • # Principal Duties and Responsibilities: ############ Manages assigned projects, including creating and managing work plans, and keeping improvement teams on track to produce deliverables on time. ############ Provides quality improvement support, including coaching on effective plan, do study, act cycles for improvement. ############ Participates in departmental education, staff meetings, and educational activities as needed. ############ Assist leadership in identifying and prioritizing key projects to provide optimal benefit in performance improvement. ############ Preparing and delivering written and verbal presentations to work teams and leadership groups. ############ Collaborates with clinical and operational leaders to develop, design, and deliver on improvement initiatives. ############ Coordinates the implementation of the performance improvement program that meets the needs of patients, staff, and external agencies. ############ Performs duties in accordance with established policies and procedures, facility objectives/goals, performance improvement activities, safety, confidentiality, environmental and infection control standards. Demonstrates initiative, the ability to work with others, and professional judgment. ############ Assist with ensuring compliance with all regulatory requirements, planning, monitoring, and evaluation of performance improvement. ############ Responsible for coordinating performance improvement activities related to assigned functions (core measure and outcome reporting and internal auditing) ############ Coordinates the PI teams to assure effective use of time with positive results and outcomes. ############ Develops action plans when opportunities for improvement are identified in conjunction with pertinent clinical staff. ############ Monitors compliance with quality measures and action plan activities to the appropriate committees ############ Participates actively on committees and attends meetings as required. ############ Perform all other tasks/responsibilities, as necessary. # # Educational Requirements: ############ Graduate of an accredited school of nursing ############ High school diploma or equivalent required #######Must be able to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing Required Certifications and Licenses: ############ Registered with the Board of Nursing for the State of Texas Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: ############ Able to apply principles and tools of performance improvement to a wide range of problems. ############ Able to communicate effectively with the Hospital staff, administration staff and medical staff. ############ Able to present information effectively and respond in English to questions from the hospital staff, medical staff, managers, and the public. ############ Able to read and interpret medical record documentation and hospital policies and procedures. ############ Able to use (or willing to learn) computer software applications. ############ Knowledge of quality indicators and specification manuals for accreditation agencies, CMS, state regulatory agencies and professional organization certification requirements is preferred. # Physical# Requirements: ############ Ability to distinguish between numbers and symbols. ############ Corrected vision and hearing to normal or near normal range ############ Extended periods of sitting and/or walking depending on specific duties ############ Hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity with substantial movement of wrist and/or fingers
