    We are actively looking for a Nurse Practitioner in our Menomonie, WI onsite clinic. The right candidate will be scheduled in an onsite clinic(s) to provide primary care to students of UW Stout. At Student Health Centre, we help schools reduce their health care spend, offer convenient health care to students, improve the quality of life for students by providing both sick care as well as true HEALTH care. We want to maintain and improve health before it becomes a problem.

    Our clinic provides;

    • Direct primary care to our limited population
    • Hormone Replacement Therapy
    • Gender Transition
    • Chronic disease management
    • Sports Physicals
    • Concussion Care
    • Psychiatric care
    • Virtual Visits
    • In house lab draws (sent out to LabCorp)
    • Onsite Medication dispensary
    • The ability to take your time with patients
    • No insurance billing, no collections (other than medication dispensary)

    Responsibilities

    • Must be willing to work as a member of a multidisciplinary team including all health professionals listed above
    • Annual exams (including biometric data, occupational vision screen, and medical exam) and develops action plan with patient.
    • Work with students that are going through gender transition and/or hormone replacement therapy
    • Acute/Chronic medical care
    • Performs physical examinations of patients
    • Perform Sports physicals for athletes
    • Perform post concussion and return to play care
    • Order and interprets diagnostic tests, including radiologic exams, EKG’s, laboratory studies to diagnose health problems
    • Prescribes, refill, dispense and manages medications
    • Ability to draw blood for labs (if needed)
    • Ability to administer injections (allergy and vaccination)
    • Performs minor medical procedures, including suturing and excisions and implanting contraception devices.
    • Refer and receive referrals both internally and externally
    • Periodically attend events at school to market the services we provide in the clinic
    • Complete accurate and thorough documentation of all patient encounters, diagnosis, and charges in EHR
    • Manages chronic diseases with the healthcare team to facilitate positive patient outcomes
    • Educates patients with current and/or future (pre-disease) health risk factors, such as high cholesterol, BMI, smoking/vaping, diabetes, and diet

    Job Requirements

    • Nurse Practitioner license
    • Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA) License
    • Experience with student health preferred
    • Understands HIPAA and OSHA regulations
    • Experience in independent practice, including routine family practice, chronic care management, and urgent visits
    • A self motivated individual with exceptional customer service
    • Must practice with empathy for first time consumers of health. Students will walk in for care, may not follow directions, may need reminders.
    • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
    • Strong written and interpersonal communication skills
