    What's the Short Version?

    The Director, Global Product Quality Assurance is responsible for the leadership, development, and management of the company's Product Quality Assurance activities across the product supply chain. They work to ensure compliance to SanMar product quality standards and specifications. The position collaborates at all levels with Product Development, Sourcing, Merchandising, Compliance, Distribution, SanMar overseas Sourcing Offices, Suppliers, and others with the objective of strategizing, implementing, and driving product quality and initiatives.

    This position requires integral knowledge of textiles/garment & accessory performance at a technical and practical level. The Director, Global Product Quality Assurance has a forward-thinking approach, is flexible and open to new ideas. This position involves managing and leading staff in support of the described activities. The ability to be strategic, hands-on, collaborative, and open-minded is essential.

     

    What Will You Be Doing?

    • Establish vision, strategize, and implement initiatives and processes to ensure all product meets and complies with the SanMar product performance claims and expectations.
    • Lead and manage SanMar’s Product Quality Assurance Department (Product Integrity, Color and Quality Control) to maximize the quality of all product from development through inspection at SanMar warehouses.
    • Develop effective and collaborative partnerships with cross functional teams, SanMar offshore offices and suppliers at all levels.
    • Manage enhancements and updates to the SanMar product quality standards and specifications including communications both internally and externally.
    • Develop Quality programs to monitor, manage and enforce SanMar product quality standards and requirement including product inspections at SanMar warehouses and at suppliers using Third Party Services.
    • Develop and provide training and support to internal stakeholder and suppliers (On-boarding) in all aspects of Product Quality Assurance to help elevate their understanding and or maintain their ability to deliver consistent product quality.
    • Align with customer expectations and concerns relative to product quality and in partnership with the Decoration Team, Product Development, and others to support product improvements with suppliers etc.
    • Implement and manage product testing including product performance (test results) and determine areas of non-compliance, evaluate risk, and recommend corrective actions, including making decisions to accept and or reject product.
    • Identify and develop quality best practices across the supply chain for consistent product quality.
    • Drive improvement in the SanMar’s Quality Assurance program aligned to changes in business.
    • Partner with cross-functional teams to lend support and technical expertise in the development of new product and or processes when required.
    • Communicate Company and department goals, best practices and deadlines to the PQA team.
    • Participate in the hiring and training of all department managers.
    • Oversee and support performance management of all PQA team members.

     

    What Are We Looking For?

    • Bachelor's Degree in Quality Management or related field or equivalent experience.
    • 10 years of experience managing textile quality and or product textile manufacturing.
    • Strong experience in textile/garment gained in manufacturing, processing and or testing environment.
    • Deep experience with international manufacturing, sourcing, and vendor management.
    • Strong knowledge of product testing, textile processes, textile/garment performance etc.
    • Self-motivated with the ability to recognize business needs, act with intent, and simultaneously manage multiple projects.
    • Proactive in recognizing and adjusting to shifting priorities with the ability to anticipate problems, recommend solutions and implement them.
    • Strong collaboration skills with the ability to interact effectively with internal departments, suppliers, and overseas offices.
    • Ability to influence decisions through expertise and sound judgement.
    • Have strong leadership capability (developing teams and individuals) and demonstrated professionalism, creativity, and vision.
    • Strong customer focus including timely follow-up and a sense of urgency.
    • Excellent communication (both oral and written) and negotiation skills.
    • Proficient use of Microsoft suites and internet research skills.
    • Domestic and International travel required.

     

    What's Our Offer?

    Salary Range: You`ll earn between $160,000 - $220,000 annually, depending on experience.

     

    Bonus: You`ll be eligible for an annual discretionary bonus up to 20% of base salary.

     

    Paid Time Off: You`ll accrue paid time off on a bi-weekly basis based on hours worked up to 152 hours per year to start. Employees also receive 8 paid holidays and 1 paid family day off.

    What Should You Expect?

    Hybrid: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit; reach with hands and arms and talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to use hands to finger, handle or feel. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. Work environment is moderately quiet. Ability to work on computer for multiple hours with frequent interruptions.

    SanMar's Eastpointe office is located near Seattle, WA and our standard working hours are 8:00-5:00 PST. Quarterly travel may be required.
