    Position Description

    The Human Resources Employee Relations Business Partner is responsible for facilitating and managing employee relations on behalf of the company. The position performs a wide range of human resources, administrative and office support activities for TCG management to facilitate the efficient operation of the organization. This position would travel to different construction sites as needed to assist with Employee Relations and other HR activities.

    Job Responsibilities

    • Manages and resolves complex employee relations issues. Conducts effective, thorough and objective investigations.
    • Serves as a trusted advisor and consults with leaders in the organization, providing HR guidance when appropriate.
    • Maintains in-depth knowledge of legal requirements related to day-to-day management of employees, reducing legal risks and ensuring regulatory compliance. Engages corporate HR when necessary.
    • Works closely with management and employees to improve work relationships, build morale, and increase productivity and retention.
    • Advises and trains managers and supervisors in best employee relations practices and strategies for managing supervisor problems and employee grievances.
    • Provides day-to-day performance management guidance to division and frontline leadership (e.g., coaching, counseling, career development, disciplinary actions).
    • Provides HR policy guidance and interpretation.
    • Identifies training and individual coaching needs.
    • Provide backup administrative support when necessary. This may include onboarding, drug testing, training, timekeeping, etc.
    • Performs other related duties as assigned

    Job Qualifications

    • Bachelor's degree preferred in business, human resources, or related field
    • Five or more years of related work experience.
    • Ability to comprehend, interpret, and apply the appropriate sections of applicable laws, guidelines, regulations, ordinances, and policies.
    • Ability to acquire a thorough understanding of the organization's hierarchy, jobs, qualifications, compensation practices, and the administrative practices related to those factors.
    • Ability to work in a fast pace, diverse work environment and collaborate with a high-performing team.
    • Excellent verbal and written skills with the ability to communicate in front of groups.
    • Strong interpersonal skills with proven ability to influence
    • Computer proficiency and technical aptitude with the ability to use Microsoft products, including PowerPoint; experience with HRIS and benefits databases.
    • Excellent organizational and time management skills and ability to plan and set priorities. Ability to manage several complex projects simultaneously while working under pressure to meet deadlines.
    • Must be able to discuss sensitive & confidential information with employees in a professional manner. Must be performed w/ the highest of integrity, trust & respect.
    • Thorough understanding of dispute resolution.
    • Ability to remain tactful, calm, and persuasive in controversial and/or confrontational situations.

    Other Requirements

    • Bilingual in Spanish preferred.
    • Must pass a drug screen and background check.
    • Must be able to work at a desk and on a computer for prolonged periods.
    • Must be present in the field where employees work on a regular basis. This requires wearing steel toe boots, hard hat, and appropriate attire and PPE.
