Community Relations Director

  • Weatherly Inn Memory Care Community is looking for a skilled individual to facilitate new professional and community relationships that support our community's goals. Responsibilities include external representation of our community to increase awareness through participation in outside events, professional groups, and community involvement. Position requires collaboration with CEO and community General Managers to develop and execute a targeted sales plan. Candidates must be able to display integrity and honesty; representing the Weatherly Inn's high degree of professionalism and customer service. Excellent communication skills, sales experience, and senior living experience preferred. Proficient computer skills including Publisher and social media desirable. Must be able to work a flexible schedule (some evening and weekend hours).

    JOB SKILLS (Abilities essential to the job.)

    • Read, write, speak and understand English.
    • Lift 25 pounds and carry 25 pounds.
    • Push 250 pound resident in wheelchair or cart of same weight.
    • Sit, stand, walk, squat, and bend at waist multiple times a shift.
    • Perform repetitive arm/hand movement & reach above shoulder.
    • Proficient at operating: extractor, vacuum, vehicle, copier, computer.
    • Proficient at multitasking, organization communication, leadership, marketing, publications.

    QUALIFICATIONS

    • Education: GED or High School Graduation required, College Degree in Marketing, Management or similar field preferred.
    • Experience: 3 years in same or job related field required.
    • Licenses: Washington State Driver’s License.
    • Ability to relate with a wide variety of people.
    • Proven ability in graphic design and writing text and news releases.

    GENERAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES (Basic essentials of the position)

    • Learn to know special needs of residents and report changes in behavior (physical or emotional) to nursing.
    • Be familiar with and follow Employee Handbook, Performance Expectations and specific job duties.
    • Able to receive/return routine phone calls from Weatherly Inn within 24 hours; urgent within 4.
    • Report needed repairs or unsafe conditions to maintenance or supervisor.
    • Report immediately any on the job injury to supervisor or charge nurse.
    • Maintain a clean work environment.

    SPECIFIC DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Conduct tours. Have thorough knowledge of how community operates.
    • Maintain accurate and current data base of potential candidates.
    • Communicate regularly with potential candidates according to current standards.
    • Coordinate and communicate resident move-ins and move-outs with all departments.
    • Strive to maintain average census of 95%.
    • Visits industry professionals and other potential customers or decision-makers an average minimum of 16 hours a week, maintaining high visibility and representing Weatherly Inn.
    • Develop targeted community outreach and complete as planned.
    • Attend local health related organization meetings, choosing one area of greater involvement.
    • Walk through building and grounds daily with an eye to seeing how well Weatherly Inn presents itself.
    • Plan and coordinate a minimum of 3 major events per year that provide an educational opportunity to the community and will bring potential customers and decision makers on site.
    • Perform other duties as directed by supervisor.
    • Assist with completing competitive analysis, making self aware of trends within the industry.
    • Assist with social media posting and development of Weatherly Inn brand on internet.

    Job Type: Full-time

    Pay: From $25.00 per hour
