About the Position
Lane County Government is seeking a strategic and influential relationship-builder to fill the role of Intergovernmental Relations Manager. This position, as part of the Policy Division within County Administration, serves as the principal lobbyist for Lane County and plays a pivotal role in advancing Lane County's interests at the state and federal levels of government. The Intergovernmental Relations Manager works closely with elected and appointed officials, government agency staff, community stakeholders, and advocacy organizations to frame compelling solutions for the critical public policy challenges of the day.
This role will be based in Eugene but will involve a great deal of hands-on advocacy in Salem, particularly during legislative sessions. While in Salem, the position isn’t isolated; it's supported by a robust connection back to Eugene and the Policy Division, with ready access to subject matter experts across Lane County Government. This includes strong ground support and strategic thought partnership. This role contributes significantly to Lane County's presence in Salem, supporting the interests of county elected officials and appointees. Despite operating with limited resources, Lane County aims to set a standard in the realm of local government, striving to be a beacon of innovation and thought leadership on major policy issues in the state.

The Intergovernmental Relations Manager is a valuable and critical member of this team.
