The Team Member Relations Consultant (TMR Consultant) is an integral member of the Human Resources team. Primary responsibilities consist of: consultation to leaders on performance and behavioral issues as well as consulting with team members on the education of and proper administration of HR policies and procedures. Serves to facilitate employee relations processes with managers and team members and monitor that polices and procedures are followed. The TMR Consultant will assesses and anticipates HR-related needs, communicating needs proactively with the HR department and operational leadership to develop integrated solutions. Works to understand the business of the various divisions/departments, including its people.  Collaborates with other areas of Human Resources

Education Requirements

A Bachelor’s degree or someone enrolled in a HR or related Bachelor’s degree program.

Experience Requirements

Some HR experience required in employee relations, HR generalist, coaching/mediation, or related experience in a fast-paced work environment, or HR college credits.  Professional experience in a health care setting strongly preferred.

Essential Functions

• • Ensures policies and procedures and the interpretation of these policies comply with all applicable federal, state and local laws.
  • Government rules and regulations, as needed for compliance, are communicated to team members, supervisors, managers and directors.
  • Knowledge of current employment laws and regulations is maintained at all times, specifically in areas of FMLA, ADA, FLSA and EEO.
  • Handles routine and complex employee relations inquiries related to policies; refers complex matters to appropriate management staff.
  • Conducts initial interviews and gathers information for employee relations matters such as harassment allegations, work complaints, or other concerns; informs appropriate HR staff when additional investigation is required. 
  • Assists with record keeping related to investigations, counseling, and termination particularly as it relates to Equal Employment Opportunity and protected class.
  • Provides consultation to leadership on performance management and team member behavioral issues.
  • Participates in HR policy development. Recommendations for policy and procedural changes will remain consistent with organizational mission and values.
  • Represents Augusta Health as part of the organization’s appeal process; investigation of appeal is comprehensive and timely.
  • Collaborates across the HR Division in a proactive way. Specific examples include but not limited to: notifying Talent Acquisition of potential turnover, partnering with Organizational Development to identify effective training solutions to mitigate progressive discipline, etc.
