U.S. Data Security (“USDS”) is a standalone department of TikTok in the U.S. This new security-first division was created to bring heightened focus and governance to our data protection policies and content assurance protocols to keep U.S. users safe. Our focus is on providing oversight and protection of the TikTok platform and user data in the U.S., so millions of Americans can continue turning to TikTok to learn something new, earn a living, express themselves creatively, or be entertained. Join our TikTok HR team as an Employee Relations Specialist. You will join a fast-growing company and help shape our TikTok people experience. This position will be responsible for employee relations matters, advising HR Business Partners and business stakeholders on performance management, appropriate disciplinary actions, and developing our investigative processes.
Responsibilities:
- Partner closely with HRBPs and people managers on ER-related matters, including advising on employee discipline, underperformance, terminations, reasonable accommodations, complex leave scenarios, and other related matters.
- Interpret and apply understanding of corporate policies and practices, employment law, and other regulations to provide advice, guidance, or clarification.
- Assist in designing policy content and deliver training for employees, managers, and the HR team that ensure compliance with relevant legislative changes and guide ER best practices, and help identify strategies to enhance employee relations capabilities.
- Manage all aspects of ER cases, including implementation of investigation strategies and risk assessment in partnership with ER Leader and Employment Counsel and HRBPs; conduct interviews, prepare reports, and owning investigation outcomes and closeout; track and prepare status updates and coordinate input from multiple stakeholders; and advise on and oversee disciplinary and remediation actions
- Minimum of 5 years of corporate employee relations experience, HR compliance, and/or employment legal.
- Expertise in consultation, investigations, guidance, policy development, and coaching to managers to address sensitive and/or difficult employee behavior and performance concerns.
- Prior experience in designing/implementing HR compliance and employee relations processes, policies, and systems that work at scale.
- Proven ability to establish influential partnerships working with peers, senior leaders, and across organizational lines to provide effective and strategic employee relations counsel.
- Effectively manage multiple priorities under tight deadlines, prioritize conflicting demands, and execute initiatives with a bias towards actions and solutions.
- Provide subject matter expertise in regulatory areas (i.e. EEOC, ADA, FMLA, FLSA, etc.)

Job Information
The base salary range for this position in the selected city is $83314 - $216000 annually.
Compensation may vary outside of this range depending on a number of factors, including a candidate’s qualifications, skills, competencies and experience, and location. Base pay is one part of the Total Package that is provided to compensate and recognize employees for their work, and this role may be eligible for additional discretionary bonuses/incentives, and restricted stock units.
