  • Our vision is that every person has the opportunity to learn, work, and thrive in all aspects of life.

To achieve our vision, we are committed to dismantling racism and advancing equity, diversity, and inclusion so we can help people reach their fullest potential through our education, job placement, and career pathway services. We do our work with great gratitude for the community donations, purchases, and partnerships that make our mission possible.

    Position Objective:

When it comes to our own Goodwill employees, we are falling short in realizing our vision as stated above. In particular, our retail employees face significant life challenges, such as food insecurity, housing instability, transportation access, childcare services, mental health support, and skill development barriers.

We aim to serve our employees as well as we serve our community so they can thrive in all aspects of life. Doing so will also help our Goodwill organization improve employee recruitment, retention, skill development, performance, and advancement. This is a new position with the opportunity to create and launch a new program to address a critical need of our organization.

The primary responsibility of the Employee Community Resource Coordinator is to help our retail employees thrive in all aspects of life by providing them with information and access to life resources in the community and within our Goodwill mission programs and services. • Responsible for gathering and curating a body of knowledge and life resources in Pierce County and developing a package and plan for sharing with retail employees. Work in partnership with the Workforce Development team to ensure community engagement is aligned.
    • Coordinate, schedule, and staff all retail employee engagements, ensuring retail managers are involved in the process.
    • Develop milestones and metrics for this program with the Director of HR and provide monthly reports on progress, achievements, insights, lessons learned, and course corrections.
    • Develop and implement a plan to extend services to more Goodwill stores over time.
