Employee Services Manager manages the selection, design, and implementation of employee engagement programs geared to attract and retain employees and promote a healthy and productive work environment. Administers programs focused on work-life, child care, fitness, discounts, remote working, education, training, and others to provide options that engage employees. Being an Employee Services Manager analyzes and assesses program utilization, employee feedback, competitiveness, and workforce productivity to ensure that a cost-effective mix of programs is offered. Reviews and researches complex questions and identifies opportunities to improve employee engagement and work experience. Additionally, Employee Services Manager implements policies and procedures to guide department workflow to control program costs, promoting efficiency and optimizing administrative hours delegated to programs. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a director. The Employee Services Manager manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. To be an Employee Services Manager typically requires 5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. 1 - 3 years supervisory experience may be required.     The responsible for the RN Employee Health Nurse is conducting the general orientation for all new employees.  Conducts in-servicing of all employees for all mandatory in-services and required nursing in-services. 

     Job Function

    Duties and Responsibilities of the RN Employee Health Nurse

    ·       Responsible for conducting general orientation for all new hires

    ·   Responsible for conducting all in-services for employees to include mandatory in-services and nursing specific in-services to ensure compliance with Department of Health regulations

    ·       Reports instances of non-compliance to Director of Nursing

    ·       Maintain employee in-service database

    ·       Participates in Quality Assurance program as directed by Director of Nursing

    ·       RN Employee Health Nurse Demonstrates optimal self-compliance and responsibility with regard to absenteeism and tardiness standards

     

    ·       Ensures equipment and supplies are used in a cost effective manner

    ·       Ensures that environment in work area is safe, sanitary, orderly and in accordance with rules, regulations and guidelines governing current infection control practices

    ·       Maintains confidentiality with all resident/employee information

    ·       Ensures that all nursing staff, licensed and non-licensed, maintain and abide by resident’s rights

    ·       Keeps Director of Nursing informed of all pertinent departmental issues

    ·       Follow all personnel policies as outlined in the Employee Handbook

    ·       Subject to call back during emergency conditions such as severe weather, evacuation, post disaster, etc.

    ·       Attend mandatory yearly in-services and continued professional education

    ·       Actively participate in committees as assigned and needed

    ·       Create and maintain an atmosphere of warmth, personal interest and positive focus

    ·       Other duties as assigned in accordance with the policies and procedures, rules, regulations and guidelines to ensure adequate and appropriate nursing care to all residents

     

    Requirements for the RN Employee Health Nurse

    ·       Licensed as a Registered Professional Nurse in NYS

    ·       Progressive professional experience in long term care

    ·       Progressive professional experience in nursing management and supervisory capacities

    ·       Ability to read, write, speak and understand the English language

    ·       Demonstrate knowledge of interpersonal relationships in working with residents, families and health team members

    ·       Demonstrate awareness of environmental safety

    ·       Ability to plan, organize, develop, implement and interpret the programs, goals, objectives, policies and procedures that are necessary for providing quality care

    ·       Willing to seek out new methods and principles and be willing to incorporate them into existing nursing practices

    ·       Current and continuing knowledge and practice of accepted standards of professional nursing practice

     

    Physical Requirements for the RN Employee Health Nurse

    ·       In good physical health

    ·       Functions independently throughout the work day

    ·       May push, pull, move supplies on carts weighing up to 150 pounds as required

    ·       Bends, stoops, kneels, lifts, climbs stairs, reaches above or below shoulder height and carries supplies and equipment weighing 25 pounds

    ·       Lifts up to 50 pounds

    ·       100% of day spent indoors, approximately 15% walking, 15% standing and 70% sitting

    ·       Communicate orally and in writing with residents, physicians, family members, visitors and co-workers

    ·       Potential exposure to body fluids and infectious conditions of residents
