Employee Services Manager manages the selection, design, and implementation of employee engagement programs geared to attract and retain employees and promote a healthy and productive work environment. Administers programs focused on work-life, child care, fitness, discounts, remote working, education, training, and others to provide options that engage employees. Being an Employee Services Manager analyzes and assesses program utilization, employee feedback, competitiveness, and workforce productivity to ensure that a cost-effective mix of programs is offered. Reviews and researches complex questions and identifies opportunities to improve employee engagement and work experience. Additionally, Employee Services Manager implements policies and procedures to guide department workflow to control program costs, promoting efficiency and optimizing administrative hours delegated to programs. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a director. The Employee Services Manager manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. To be an Employee Services Manager typically requires 5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. 1 - 3 years supervisory experience may be required.     As a core member of the Human Resources (HR) Operational Services in Employee Life Cycle, you will deliver HR service assistance to the HR community, business managers and employees. You will process complex and escalated HR requests related to multiple service lines for an assigned group of employees. In this role, you will be leading the onboarding, administrative, immigration, relocation, employee call center and master data functions of the employee life cycle within the United States and Puerto Rico HR Operations team. The position will collaborate with a team of payroll, global Hub, compensation, benefits, onboarding, HRIS and compliance subject matter experts to proactively monitor and resolve issues, ensure process improvement and accuracy and timely transactional activity. This role will need to work in-person in our Cary, NC office location.

    Your responsibilities

    • Define and implement metrics to measure and monitor effectiveness and compliance of areas of responsibility
    • Lead various assigned projects that benefit the Employee Life Cycle and other Functional Services teams to be more streamlined and compliant
    • Design, develop and implement processes, procedures, methods, standards and controls to improve the efficiency, and quality of the Employee Life Cycle (ELC)
    • Oversee employee related master data transactions and audits and support compliance requirements
    • Ensure resolution of employee inquiries and cases in accordance with key measures, while also providing exceptional customer service
    • Design, develop and implement a robust new employee orientation and on-boarding program
    • Manage immigration processes and procedures to support onboarding activities and initiatives
    • Provide due diligence and or integration support and guidance as relates to ELC activities - mergers, acquisitions, and divestitures
    • Understand, embrace and promote the ABB Way, our global business model
    • Coach and guide team members on complex queries to help develop their process knowledge
    • Leverage daily, weekly and monthly team huddles to ensure key projects and day to day responsibilities meet critical due dates and deadlines
    • Clarify responsibilities and ensure backup availability through individual and team cross-training and skill development
    • Provide feedback/conduct annual performance and salary reviews
    • Meet financial and cost management targets to ensure alignment with the approved annual budget
    Your background

    • A relevant bachelor's degree with eight (8) years of experience (inclusive of 3 to 4 years leading and managing a team) or an equivalent combination of experience and education
    • Process development and process/continuous improvement experience
    • Results oriented with proven leadership and people and change management experience
    • Strong communication and collaboration skills
    • Knowledge of various HR practices, laws, policies and procedures
    • Experience with a Human Resources Information System
    • Experience working with a cross-functional team
    • Experience managing HR and system related vendors
    • SHRM certification and Workday and/or SAP experience
    • Experience in large global business environment supporting 10,000 employees
    • Candidates must already have a work authorization that would permit them to work for ABB in the US
